1. Cheltenham races

The world famous horse racing happens at Cheltenham racecourse, 12 miles away by car from the hut. Cheltenham races is known worldwide for race week in March, with royalty and many famous faces attending to place a few bets!

2. Sudeley Castle

A beautiful castle situated in Winchcombe, 14 miles away from Oak Retreat. It is a 15th-century stately home with formal gardens, flamboyant peacocks and art by Turner and Rubens.

3. The Bell

A 10 minute walk away from the hut, this wonderful pub is the huts 'local'! A lovely country pub serving food and drinks with a spacious beer garden. You can easily stumble the 0.5 miles back to the hut to save driving!

4. The Anchor Inn

Another quaint local pub found in Eckington with a beer garden, and is in fact just across the road from The Bell. A little local village pub crawl? Why not!

5. Broadway Tower and village

A beautiful Cotswold village with lots of independent and boutique shops to explore. If you go all the way up the hill to Broadway Tower you can see stunning views of the whole vale of Evesham and the local herd of deer that live by the tower.

6. Lavender Fields

Just down the road from Broadway Tower is Cotswold Lavender, a stunning backdrop of fields and fields of lavender open to the public to walk through. Open only when the lavender is in flower (July) you definitely need to take your camera!

7. Confetti Fields

Less than 5 miles from Oak retreat is the Confetti Fields in Wick. The most beautiful flowers that make wedding confetti are open to the public for only 10 days a year to walk through, so you have to book in advance. They flower in July.

8. Cotswold Wildlife Park

Slightly further afield, Cotswold Wildlife Park is about an hours drive away from site near Burford. Here you can see giraffes, zebras, lions and a whole host of other animals, as well as walk through their gardens.

9. The Batsford Arboretum

The arboretum has 56-acre gardens with trees and shrubs from around the world, a plant centre and cafe. It is well known for its beautiful Japanese cherry blossom trees. It is 21 miles away from the hut by car.
